The film will be released in the first half of the year with a million-dollar budget and big names. The last version of D’Artagnan’s adventures for the cinema, released in 2011, was not well received by critics nor was it spoken in French, the original language of Alexandre Dumas’ work, so expectations are high.
It must be said that the literary saga is one of the most popular in the world and few adaptations have been seen in a good light by lovers of the Musketeers and Dumas. Let’s hope this new proposal will rise to the challenge.
The first images already give us an idea. Obviously, right away, we can already meet the whole cast, in period costume and with a sword in their hands.
We all know the story: D’Artagnan, a young aspiring musketeer arriving in Paris will cross paths with three men who serve the king of France and have as arch enemy the kingdom of England and the Cardinal.

We also know that the first Three Musketeers movie, called The Three Musketeers D’Artagnan, will be released in theatres on April 5 and we won’t have to wait long to find out about the sequel, as the sequel already titled Milady is scheduled to be released on December 5, 2023.
The Three Musketeers aims to rival American blockbusters in the richness of its production. It took over 27 weeks of filming to make these two films in succession, with two editing teams involved, each working on a different film. If the two films are successful in cinemas, a third part could complete the trilogy according to information collected by Le Journal du Dimanche last June.
“One for all…”
The cast of this production is a parade of celebrities. All French, or nearly so. That being the case François Civil will play the young Gascon D’Artagnan, Vincent Cassel (Athos), Romain Duris (Aramis) and Pio Marmaï (Porthos). Louis XIII will be played by none other than Louis Garrel. Eva Green will live the mysterious Milady. Lyna Khoudri, will play our hero’s crush, Constance Bonacieux.
