Today we are going to give you 5 places tested and approved by our team of Gastronomos to enjoy a good brunch in Paris.

Echo – The Californian Dream with quality ingredients and well-made recipes

The story of this little ‘biju’ that is located in the heart of the city in the charming 2nd district of Paris is as follows: Mathias Gloppe, after a long period living in California, returned to Paris and saw that there was room for a brunch inspired by the great icons of the L.A. scene and brought in his suitcase the young chef Mailea Weger, to create with him an amazing menu.

The result is generous dishes with lots of avocado, eggs, melted cheese, and bacon caramelized with maple syrup. Excellent for those who like a protein-enhanced breakfast. A highlight is the crème brulee cookie – unique and in the best style when LA meets Paris.

The menu changes according to the season and new dishes are created all the time. Absolutely everything is made in house, from the pepper sauce to the “homemade nutella” which is also sold in the epicerie corner of the store. The recipes are authorial, well elaborated and this really makes a difference in the flavor, nothing is on the plate by coincidence.

The coffee is well brewed and excellent (a rare thing to find), the hot chocolate sweetened with maple syrup and with a touch of orange is killer. It can come in the vegetal milk version without losing in flavor to the traditional version.

The public is well divided between French people and well-informed tourists. If you have a large group, it is best to book.

Nous – A surprising, healthy and delicious brunch

Designed with the concept world cuisines, Nous is a nice restaurant with 6 branches spread around Paris where you can have a good brunch, but also lunch, dinner or even a nice cocktail. This time we went there to discover their brunch.

Once settled in, we were presented with a very complete brunch menu for 29 euros per person. The menu consists of: a cold drink (great choice of freshly made natural juices), a traditional hot drink, a granola with honey and yogurt, a choice of toast (salmon and avocado or poached egg, avocado and feta), well-seasoned lentil cream accompanied by a delicious cauliflower dumpling, and a homemade dessert of your choice: chia pudding with fruit coulis or blondie with ice cream.

On a wooden board, all the elements of the brunch are presented at once for you to enjoy in any order you like. The highlight is the fruit juices, original and delicious – they mix fruit and vegetables, cucumber, apple and mint for maximum freshness. The portions are correct and you leave with the feeling of having had a complete and balanced meal.

Levantine – Home cooking, family atmosphere, the generosity that makes you feel at home

In this friendly restaurant located five minutes away from one of the most beloved places of Parisians, the Canal Saint Martin, we find a beautiful room with a cozy decoration and hasty but kind and smart service. The feeling is of having been invited to eat in someone’s home. The dishes are generous, the portions are plentiful and made for sharing.

On the brunch menu you can choose between two options, one savory and one sweet, or two savory or two sweet dishes, nothing is imposed. Among the savory dishes are: Salads, borekas, babaganoush, falafels, latkes, halloumi cheese fries and Shakshuka (typical ‘Levantine’ breakfast dish consisting of tomatoes, bell peppers, poached eggs, feta cheese and parsley).

The sweet portions are not far behind: Granola with yogurt and tamara molasses, babka perdue (a revisited version of our French toast using freshly made babka) with sour cream, Malabi with pistachios, and seasonal fruit salad. Among the drinks, one hot (tea, coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate…) and one cold (lemonade, iced tea, natural juice…) all made there.  The dishes offered are very original and delicious: a perfect babaganoush, a light and well-seasoned shatshuka – pure happiness!

The service is very pleasant and more than 70% of the public is composed of locals. The cherry on top of the cake: a delightful covered balcony that can be reserved for groups starting from 8 people.

Restaurat Solis – A bright, large and warm place with a great buffet

Part of the Renaissance Arc de Triomphe hotel, the Solis welcomes you in a sunny, warm and colorful environment to enjoy brunch on Saturday or Sunday.

The brunch is a rich buffet with all the items that make up a good hotel breakfast: pancakes, eggs, bacon, cheese, various breads, but also Mediterranean-inspired dishes, salads, and mezzes. All dishes prepared by Chef Amine Ifakren (ex Le Maurice and Le Scribe) are made with fresh, seasonal ingredients and reflect his care and origins.

The buffet includes a variety of breads, cakes, waffles, pancakes and muffins. There is a good variety of fresh fruit, cheeses and yogurts on offer. The hot buffet consists of typical brunch dishes such as crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, pizzas and focaccias, a variety of mezzes, and a hot dish that changes with the season.

Fruit juice and hot drinks are available for everyone, and a glass of Champagne is offered to all adults!  And every Saturday, the Solis offers a festive brunch with live music! The atmosphere is international, but many local Parisians come to enjoy this magnificent buffet on the weekends. The brunch menu is served every Saturday and Sunday

Pâtisserie Emma Duvéré – A real treasure on 11eme, frequented only by locals, with a lavish, artisanal brunch

Paris is a spectacular city where it is often worth walking aimlessly in order to discover places not yet known or publicized where cuisine does its excellence away from the media spotlight. It was on one of these wanderings through the delicious 11th quarter of Paris that we found this genuine space.

A small neighborhood patisserie where everything is made in a small laboratory in the basement of the restaurant. We tried the hot chocolate, the Madeleine, and the following week we returned for brunch. The brunch, served at the table, consists of natural juices, a small and delicious homemade granola verrine with yogurt, a sweet specialty (a pain au chocolat, a madaleine, a cookie) at our suggestion we ordered the ‘chauson au pomme’: puff pastry filled with homemade apple compote without sugar. The little apple pieces melted in the mouth!

A drink (coffee, tea…) is included in the menu. We ordered the hot chocolate and it was divine! There is also a dish of your choice that can be a quiche, eggs, soups or a sandwich made with the Maison foccacia. To finish with sweetness, you can choose an excellent dessert from the house: cheese cakes, chocolate cake, seasonal fruit pie, mont blanc…

The owners have a huge social concern, try their best to limit waste, use mainly organic and local ingredients. There are many glutens free, lactose free, and vegan options. The public is almost 80-90% local (French), but also the lucky ones who pass in front and come in to discover.

The brunch menu is 28 euros, is served only on the weekend, and reservations are highly recommended (reservations for up to 6 people).
