Paris is stunning in all seasons, but in summer it has a special flavor.
It is the most exciting season of the year, full of activities, cultural events and festivals. It’s hot and the days are long. Terraces and cafés multiply, parks and gardens are full of tourists and locals because these are great places to have lunch, have a picnic and just to relax.
To celebrate the season that everyone expects, Gastronomos went to the streets to investigate and try the best ice creams in the capital.

Below, we have selected 7 ice cream shops for you to enjoy the Parisian summer.

Glazed

Throughout the year, various specialties are presented, such as lemon sorbet with celery leaves and mastic liqueur, peanut butter ice cream with currant jelly, the indulgent Passy-Sèvres with hazelnut praline and almonds, filled with caramel and our favorite with honey, caramel and caramelized kasha (buckwheat). Due to their quality, the flavors are limited.

Price: €3.50 per ball.

Piumino

Created by Mina Massari, an ice cream enthusiast, Piumino is the new eco-friendly ice cream parlor in Paris. The concept revolves around ice creams made with local, organic and seasonal ingredients, without additives and packaged in biodegradable materials to preserve the planet.
As for the current flavors, we can find vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate, lavender as well as, strawberry and mint, caramelized apple (which gives us the impression of biting into a large caramelized apple).

Price: €3.50 per ball.
Address: 42, rue Joseph de Maistre and Paris 18th arrondissement. Open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12pm to 7pm, Fridays from 12pm to 8pm, Saturdays from 11am to 8pm and Sundays from 12pm to 10pm.

Ladurée

This year, Ladurée has launched a new collection of ice creams. The chef pâtissier, Julien Alvarez, proposes ice cream sandwiches: buttery, crunchy almond cookies, gluten-free and filled with the house’s artisanal ice cream.
The flavors available are vanilla with pecan and caramel, ispahan: roses, raspberries and lychees (a tribute to Pierre Hermé), violet and currant and chocolate.

Mantchouk

This famous and delicious Armenian restaurant invites us to discover its new creation “Spitak”.
Among the different flavors on offer, we highlight the orange blossom one. You can even add rose petals, pistachio pieces or baklava for an extra touch of texture.

Price: Ice cream at €6 and available in a cone for €3.50.
Address: Mantchouk, 106 boulevard de Courcelles, Paris 17th, open Monday to Saturday from 9:30 to 20:00.

Jade Genin

Daughter of renowned chocolatier Jacques Génin, Jade Genin is also adventuring into the world of ice cream with her granita creations. Made with fresh and natural ingredients, her granitas are delicious and refreshing. Jade’s creations don’t use crushed ice, but rather finely grated ice, which makes all the difference, leading to a lighter, snowier texture.
You can find various flavors like dark chocolate, almond, honey, strawberry, mango and pistachio.

Alain Ducasse’s ice cream at Le Meurice

Alain Ducasse has reopened his ice cream cart in the lobby of Hotel Le Meurice. The renowned 3 Michelin-starred chef has brought Matteo Casone, an expert in ice cream production from Bologna, to offer the best options of the famous and delicious “gelato” in Paris.
In the available options, we can find 4 ice creams and 2 sorbets. We highlight the vanilla ice cream, creamy and intensely flavored, and the strawberry ice cream made with a typical French strawberry, the gariguette. The ice creams live up to chef Alain Ducasse, they are a must-try!

Price: 4,50€ – 10€.

Bältis

Bältis is located in two iconic places in Paris: in the heart of Le Marais and in the Montorgueil neighborhood. The space offers 100% organic ice creams, created hand in hand with chef pâtissier Jean-Thomas Schneider. In their stores, you can find flavors such as achta, a milk cream flavored with orange blossom and pistachio, as well as soft ice creams such as rose water, lemon, passion fruit or apricot. And at Bältis Montorgueil, there are two unique flavors: thyme and olive oil and dried fig. It’s worth it!

Price: Ice creams and sorbets range from €4.30 to €6.80, iced cocktails from €8.
